The Nigerian National Flag, the most important symbol of nationhood, is divided vertically into three equal parts. The central part is white while the two other equal parts are green. The green part of the flag represents agriculture while the white stands for unity and peace. The National Flag emerged in 1960 when the country became independent. It is also kept on a table for respect; or placed on the standing pole in an office, conference room, auditorium etc.
